Is Green River State Park worth your trip?
Green River State Park is a modest but genuinely useful stopover in a stretch of Utah where shade and running water feel like luxuries.
The cottonwood-lined riverfront campground is legitimately comfortable, and the boat launch gives rafters a real gateway into the Green River canyons downstream. This is not a destination park built around dramatic hikes or wildlife spectacle. It earns its keep as a functional, well-maintained base with water access, and it delivers exactly that without pretense.
Best for
RV travelers crossing the Colorado Plateau, boaters and anglers targeting the Green River, and rafters staging a canyon run will find this genuinely useful. Visitors seeking trail systems, backcountry, or scenic overlooks should look elsewhere.

From the NPS: Cottonwood-lined fairways wrap around the campground and trace the banks of the Green River. This verdant park in the heart of Utah is a relaxing base camp for golfers, fishers and boaters, but also serves and an ideal launch for rafters looking to access the Green River's famous canyons. Nestled in the center of the park is the shaded RV and tent friendly campground. Green grass, tables, fire rings and restrooms with showers make for a comfortable and cozy stay. The day use and group areas are near the boat launch and courtesy dock. Make a reservation on the Utah State Parks reservation site .
