We keep this log public because being able to check what changed, and when, is part of being a real publication. We date our figures, we do not silently edit published numbers, and when we get something materially wrong we fix it and record it here. Last updated: August 2026.

2026-08-13 · Scope language corrected

We broadened the site's description from "National Park Service units" to "US national parks and public lands" after confirming that a meaningful share of the units we cover (national wildlife refuges, lakes and reservoirs, and a small number of state parks) are managed by agencies other than the National Park Service and are sourced from Recreation.gov rather than the NPS Data API. The units and their scores were unchanged; the wording that described them was made accurate. Our data-source and methodology copy now names both sources.

Reporting an error

If a fee, a date, a location or a fact looks wrong, send it to us with the park name and what you saw. We check reports against the official source and, if confirmed, correct the page and add an entry here.
